Celebration of Art & Culture
February 20 – 24, 2026 | Gulfport Arts Center
Hosted at the Gulfport Arts Center and thoughtfully curated by community organizer Lois Hawthorne, this multi-day exhibit is a celebration of culture, creativity, and the enduring power of art. Showcasing the talents of quilters, needlecrafters, sculptors, authors, woodworkers, and visual artists, the collection features handcrafted and published works that speak to identity, history, and shared human experience. Free and open to the public.

Each piece in the exhibit tells a story—born of love, struggle, and tradition—highlighting how art in all its forms can serve as a powerful reflection of the soul. From intricately sewn quilts to evocative sculptures and original literary works, the exhibit honors the beauty found in the details of lived experience.

As part of its educational impact, students from Gulfport Schools will have the opportunity to tour the exhibit and engage with the work, offering them a unique lens into artistic expression and cultural storytelling.
This meaningful event is made possible through the support of Hancock Whitney, Legacy Business League, and WJZD-94.5.
